  1. Introduce yourself!

My name is Cristina and I’m the creative mind behind Memories of the Pacific. When I’m not working on the blog I teach English as a second language in Spain, my home country.

  1. Tell us about your blog!

I started Memories of the Pacific in 2014. I created my blog as a creative outlet to share my passions: fashion, food, travel and photography. You may wonder why I chose Memories of the Pacific as its name. Back in 2009, a year after I graduated from university I set off on my biggest adventure so far. I moved to California for a year. It was an unforgettable experience that changed my life forever. The blog mixes my current life in Spain with flashbacks to my year in America.

  1. How would you describe your style? And please share some of your fashion/style tips.

My style is feminine, sweet and classy.

In fashion I believe that less is more. I don’t like taking risks, I prefer to keep in my comfort zone when it comes to fashion.

  1. What are three of your favourite blog posts from your blog?

This is a tough one! Ok, I’m going to pick one of each category.

My favorite recipe post is one of a Christmas loaf cake made of chestnuts and chocolate. I love how the photos turned out and it’s my favorite cake recipe to date.

My favorite fashion post is one I did recently where I’m wearing a cozy cardigan with a cute bear pined to it.

My favorite travel post is one about Carmel-by-the-Sea, a charming town in the California coast.

  1. Where do you find the inspiration for your blog posts?

I find inspiration online, mainly on Pinterest and Instagram. I also find inspiration on things around me. My creative mind is awake at all times!

  1. How do you find time for both a demanding full time job and running a blog?

I try to be as organized as possible. Since I’m so passionate about blogging I’m always eager to sit down and brainstorm ideas in front of my laptop. I’ve also chosen quality over quantity so posting once a week works well for me.

  1. How do you stay healthy with your busy schedule?

It is! However, eating well is a priority for me. Having a balanced diet is extremely important and I just don’t feel well if I eat something unhealthy. Being Spanish I give extreme importance to food, for us it’s not just a necessity but also a pleasure.

As far as working out is concerned, I could do better. I’d like to work out 3-4 times a week but I only manage to do it once or twice. My favorite workouts are Zumba and Pilates.

  1. Your pictures are gorgeous! Do you have any photography tips?

Thanks! Maybe I sound like a broken record but lighting is the most important thing. My #1 advice is to shoot at golden hour, it makes colors pop and gives a beautiful golden tone to your photos. #2 is practice makes perfect.

  1. What is something that people would be surprised to know about you?

Something my followers may not know is that I actually started blogging back in 2010. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of closing that blog, something I still regret today. At that time it was easier to build an audience than it is today because there weren’t so many fashion blogs. Starting and having a relatively successful blog these days takes more hard work than it used to. I remember that back in the day girls who are now established fashion bloggers like Annabelle Fleur from VivaLuxury, used to comment and follow my blog. I can’t help but wonder where I’d be if I hadn’t quit blogging for a while.

  1. I know you love to travel. What has been your favourite place to visit and why?

It wasn’t just a visit, it was a long stay but, as the song says, I left my heart in San Francisco… It’s the perfect city to live in. It’s not too big but you can find everything in it. I also like the variety of neighborhoods and people. You can take a tour around the world by visiting San Francisco.

Lots of love...
